Imagine you have finally found out about the best outdoor dining nyc option around you and you have no one you can go out with. No we didn’t mean to make you feel bad. You know where we are heading with this. It’s time you consider yourself someone you can go out with. Sounds confusing? Well, we are asking you to take yourself out on a date so that you don’t have to ask someone else out.

Not convinced? Here are 5 reasons why you should consider eating out in a restaurant alone.

Alone Does Not Mean Lonely, But Independent

Let’s clear this one doubt, to begin with. A lot of people refuse to eat out alone simply because people will think they are lonely. Eating out alone does not mean you are lonely but independent. You choose to sit all by yourself, order something you feel like having, enjoy your meal in your company and pay for it by yourself. If anything, this proves that you are confident, independent, and in love with yourself. It doesn’t matter if you have a bunch of friends or no friends at all, eating out alone once in a while should be a part of your selfcare routine.

You Deserve a Break

Everyone deserves a break. Be it from work, study, or a monotonous routine. Now, we didn’t say you “need” it. So, even if you believe you don’t need a break, trust us you deserve one. One of the ways in which you can simply step out of your routine without drastically affecting it is by eating out alone. It may not seem a big deal but when you choose to spend some time with yourself in a new environment, you allow your mind to get out of the clutter. A monotonous routine may be something you like but it can restrict your brain from thinking out of the box.

Spending Quality Time With Yourself Is Important

If you believe working on something you like or cooking for yourself is spending quality time with yourself, it unfortunately is not. It is great that you are doing something you like and you are taking care of your body but when we say spending quality time with yourself, it means enjoying your company, allowing yourself to open up with yourself, treating yourself with a solo date to your favorite restaurant, and letting your emotions and thoughts out. You don’t have to cry in a restaurant, that’s not what we mean. Sitting in a restaurant with no one around you, you can actually see how your brain works. Acknowledge your thoughts, embrace this alone time, let yourself know how important you are and how much you appreciate yourself for what you are.

Food is a love language and so is pampering someone with a treat. Use this love language for yourself.

You Can Try Something You Always Wanted To

You can try something new, something you always wanted to eat without depending on someone who will take out time for you and then take you out. Moreover, you don’t have to restrict yourself from trying something just because your partner might judge you.

It’s Good for Your Health

A lot of people believe eating out is unhealthy. Perhaps as bad as eating junk but surprisingly it is not. In fact, it is important and healthy if you are not making unhealthy food decisions. You can always choose to eat healthy. If you aren’t sure what is healthy and what is not, stick to Italian cuisine.

Anyways, coming back to the point, eating out alone is good for your mental health. When you choose to treat yourself with love and care, your body and mind responds positively. Let us explain to you how and why.

When you consider spending time with someone, what do you consider in them that helps you decide if they are the right person to spend time with? The way they treat you, right? When they give you attention, they listen, ask questions, and most importantly be there for you. You feel attracted and loved, don’t you? And this makes you feel good right? Well, the same way when you replace this random person with yourself, your mind reacts the same way as it would normally in someone else’s company.

You know what’s best about spending time alone? Your happiness is not dependent on someone else. So there’s absolutely no fear of someone hurting you.

We hope these reasons are enough for you to consider eating out alone. If you are scared because you may get judged or won’t like being alone, we highly recommend giving it a try before making up your mind. We firmly believe you will end up liking it.
