Must Try Italian Restaurants in NYC
There is not one best Italian restaurant NYC has to offer. This city has innumerable joints and a significant number serves to be the best. But one can always try out new places. Even if you are a tourist, you don’t have to try just one place, try the best dishes the place has to offer and add food adventures to your list like a real foodie.
Now even if you are trying places out you don’t have to ruin your experience by visiting and trying places that aren’t even worth it so we have combined the most recommended Italian restaurants in this blog for you.
Now, to keep it creative yet authentic, we have not only mentioned places that serve authentic, traditional Italian cuisine but even included places that are famous for their different take on the traditional cuisine. Pizza is not included as we all would agree, pizza deserves a totally different, dedicated blog.
Crispins

Recognized as the best Italian restaurant in NYC, the place truly deserves to be known as the best. The ambience, hospitality, food quality, authenticity, and in fact the portion size served, everything is upto mark. If you are looking to have a decent brunch or dinner in an Italian restaurant that looks cozy, classy and welcoming, Crispins is the place for you, no need to even look any further. The place is so beautiful and the servers are well-informed. We have personally found their knowledge extremely helpful as new diners and loved everything they recommended and got us on the table.
The wine collection and menu is amazing as well. It’s not just about the food but your overall experience. And you cannot miss out on the drinks. The wine tasting session we had was beyond words and we cannot simply express it through writing, hence we ask you to experience exactly what we experienced.
Don Angie

Another famous Italian restaurant but it isn’t just famous for their authentic Italian food but their unique take on lasagna. The place serves pinwheel lasagna with all the authentic flavours and sauce is lip smacking. Their decision to take the classic lasagna sheets and roll them as wheels with perfect layers of sauce and meat adds so much to the taste. It’s not just beautiful for your eyes but for your tongue as well. Even though we love traditional food over creative combinations, we totally appreciate and approve their decision of playing with lasagna.
However, if you are considering trying this place out, we would like to inform you beforehand that the place is packed most of the time and there can be a wait. The place is cozy and the seating is decently spacious. The servers are knowledgeable and polite. Again, a must try but consider getting a reservation or be prepared to wait, it is totally worth your time.
Bar Pitti

The place is renowned for its outdoor seating that goes along the sidewalk along the sixth avenue. If you are in New york for the first time or you have guests with you, this place is a must visit for the ‘only in New York’ kinda experience. You cannot miss this place for any reason whatsoever. Bar Pitti has a decent Italian menu but more than pasta, the place is famous for its caprese salad. You can easily spot actors, models, and socialites. It is that sort of a place. The outdoor seating in sixth avenue doesn’t require any further explanation about how ulttmate your experience shall be. The hospitality is good as well.
Via Carota

It is a warm and inviting place that is perfectly designed for a comfortable, traditional experience. The place doesn’t have flattering decor, it’s very simple and elegant with wooden detailing and bricks exposed. Unfortunately, there’s no reservation system and the wait can push more than two hours during the peak hours of the day. The menu is huge and amazing. Even the salads and vegetable dishes are worth trying for their freshness and simplicity. The owners of Via Carota run Buvette, I Sodi, and Bar Pisellino between them and all these places are exceptionally famous and a must try as well.
